Workshop on Integer and Combinatorial Optimization
In light of the extraordinary circumstances caused by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19), we unfortunately have to cancel the workshop. The Robert Koch Institute considers the health risk for Germany as moderate. However, in the city and district of Aachen are multiple confirmed cases and we do not want to expose our guests to the risk of an infection.
We plan to offer a new workshop at a different date.
Apologies for any circumstances caused by this last-minute cancelation.
March 11-12, 2020, RWTH Aachen
The workshop "Integer and Combinatorial Optimization" takes place on the 11th and 12th of March 2020. The aim of this year's edition lies in the presentation and discussion of recent trends in the design and analysis of algorithms in combinatorial optimization, and, partly, at the intersection of combinatorial optimization and machine learning. Invited speakers are
- Jannik Matuschke (KU Leuven)
- Sebastian Pokutta (TU+ZIB Berlin)
- Thomas Rothvoss (Washington University)
- Laura Sanità (Eindhoven University)
- Melanie Schmidt (Cologne University)
- Vera Traub (Bonn University)
In addition, there will be 8 contributed talks.
Participation is free of charge. For organizational purposes, please register via e-Mail to Dina Hermanns with name and affiliation until the 25th of February.
If you need further information or suggestions for accommodation please contact Dina as well.
The workshop "Integer and Combinatorial Optimization" takes place in the Central Auditorium for Research and Learning (C.A.R.L.) in the lecture hall H09 (2nd floor). It is located in Claßenstraße 11, 52072 Aachen (see RWTH Navigator). Due to the high number of registrations we had to move the workshop to this location.
If you arrive by train, the station Aachen West is the most proximate. If you want to use busses in Aachen, you can use bus lines 1, 3A/B, 16, 30, 33, 41, 73, and 173 to the bus stop "Audimax" right next to the C.A.R.L. building.
The workshop is jointly organized by
- Arie Koster (Discrete Optimization, RWTH Aachen University),
- Marc Pfetsch (Optimization, TU Darmstadt), and
- Britta Peis (Management Science, RWTH Aachen University).
